One of the most graceful monuments of the Saltanate period is the Gaur Chota Sona Mosque, It was built by one Wali Mohammad during the reign of Sultan Alauddin Hussain Shah in 1493-1519 AD. It was originally roofed over with 15 gilded domes including the three chauchala (Four roofs) domes in the middle row, from which it derives its curious name. It is situated on the Sibgonj-Maldha highway about 82 km of Rajshahi and 24 km of Chapai Nobabgonj.
